Amateur Radio Logging Programs
For County Hunters
Leading the Way Since 1989
The KWIKLOG LITE program IS NOW available. It is a shareware program that is an updated copy of the former KWIKLOG DEMO program and is an excellent program to track the CQ Magazine USA-CA or to track MARAC's All Counties award program. As a FREE shareware program there is naturally no technical support but like other KWIKLOG programs, it is a very friendly logging program designed entirely for those interested in chasing all 3077 USA counties. It is available at present ONLY by download. There is no charge for trying this program but if you continue to use the program you are expected to forward a small contribution to its developers to assist in maintaining this site and making the program available to others but there is NO obligation to do so.
Why is it FREE and shareware? Well our experience has proven that once you start chasing USA counties, and especially after earning the USA-CA award from CQ, you are "hooked" on county hunting and will want to continue doing so by chasing the many other awards and will want to purchase KWIKLOG CLASSIC.
Listed below is a listing of those items found in this KWIKLOG LITE Shareware program.
Awards (Books):
1 - Tracks your progress toward earning the CQ
Magazine USA-CA Award. (Counties that can be credited for QSO's in Independent
Cities are offered.)
2 - MARAC's All Counties Award (1 to nth time)
3 - Program also tracks, WAS Worked all States and Worked all Capital cities.
4 - DX-CC
This program does NOT maintain any MARAC awards other
then the basic All Counties award.
5 - You can elect to "attempt" to work all counties on your
preferred Mode, (CW for example) but program will post to your award, all
QSO's to earn the award as quickly as possible, but if you elect this
option and work a SSB QSO it will be posted to the award
immediately. If you subsequently work that county on CW
and CW is your preferred mode, then the SSB QSO will be replaced with the CW
QSO. (This sets up program for an endorsement at a later time
(All CW in this example)
6 - You have the following options for your book: Search,
View, Edit, Print, and each option has many individual
options. For example you can display Counties needed, worked, completed,
worked but unconfirmed, and numbers of each option is displayed.
7 - A new feature found only in KWIKLITE is a ONE
BUTTON CHECK. Click on any window or menu option in the program that
displays a button which reads "One Button Check" and you will
immediately be given four lists : 1 - A list of all
Needed Counties (by State or entire
USA, 2 - A list of all Worked
but Unconfirmed Counties by state or entire
USA, 3 - A list of all completed counties by
state or entire USA, and 4 - A list of all counties that is your last county in
a state or the entire USA. A very quick option that
informs you if you need a county being run and if the county is a last in the
state. You will use this new feature often.
Logging:
1 - Logs your QSO's with 3 options - You
Fixed, You Mobile, and They DX (all options actually log in to the same log but
each has its own set of defaults to expedite logging the QSo's. Example if
you are fixed - they are mobile is the default . If you are mobile they
are fixed is the default.)
2 - You can log QSO's with DX stations, and the program automatically displays a
list of countries to choose from based on the prefix of the DX station
worked.
3 - You can enter codes for all QSO's that can be used in other logging
programs that track MARAC awards, such as Big Rig, Teams,
etc., if desired for use in the future should you wish to upgrade the program.
4 - The program uses a mouse option (required) to select states, counties,
calls. bands etc from lists displayed as you advance in the log.
entries The typical steps in logging a QSO, (you mobile for example)
are: Click on Change Your County and Select State and County -
if you are in a different county - or Click on their State click on their
county, click on County Line Button if they are on a line, Select Second

key, Enter Y if working a team (team member will automatically be displayed - if
in your list of teams), ADD to log by pressing default (Enter key)
for Date, Time, Band, Mode, and Frequency (you can change any default entry by
clicking on same. Review and Save - That's it. The only
typing required is the stations call (logging as you work the
station).
5 - The log can be Edited, Deleted, Viewed, Searched for
a number of items, Renamed, Opened /Closed, Posted to your Award (Book), and

1 - Program determines if county has not been
confirmed and will generate MRC's for any county needed and will annotate to
county record, the confirmation status, and will assign a number to the M RC,
which can be confirmed by the program automatically when returned signed to you.
2 - MRC's are generated from log and all QSO's for same Station are grouped on a
separate MRC.
3 - MRC's are separated and merged for your Fixed and Mobile status.

database file of county hunters that are active to insert home QTH and other
data in your log. File provided has almost 4000 stations
listed. The list can be edited, calls added, or deleted.
Record shows home QTH and names.
2 - The program will allow maintenance of a list of all calls awarded the CQ
Magazine award, or MARAC award calls and numbers (used in other KWIKLOG programs
