NOW AVAILABLE -- is a redesigned version of the former KWIKLOG LITE program. This program is a FREE shareware program available by download. This program is designed to track ONLY the CQ Magazine USA-CA award and the MARAC all counties award. See below under OTHER files
Many users were unaware that after installing the program the SETUP CD would again be required. Those that were aware of this requirement (of all Windows programs by the way ) may still have their SETUP CD but that CD of course is outdated in many cases and it also would require update files to bring the program back to the current versions. So with that in mind, and to make it possible for KWIKLOG users to have access to a new SETUP CD and would therefore not force them to give up the program I decided that I would make available to all current users of KWIKLOG programs an updated SETUP CD for them that was FREE for downloading .
After some confusing communications between MARAC and myself on how to make these files available for the old KWIKLOG users a MARAC decision NOT to make the files available has been rescinded and I am now advised that the files will be made available by MARAC.
This action will give all users of the KWIKLOG PLUS 2000 and KWIKLOG CLASSIC programs the "freedom" to re-install their old programs in the future at any time should they have a need to do so or to install the program on a new computer, which of course is the main reason that the file is necessary.
They will now be free to upgrade to the new MARAC updated version of the program or to continue with the KWIKLOG program they are now using. Their choice. I applaud MARAC's president for making this decision. Naturally we can not expect MARAC to retain these files forever. The KWIKLOG policy was to hold them for one year and I always advised my users the date a file would be removed. I deleted all files to the first DOS version one year after the first Windows program was issued. I deleted the first windows program files (KWIKWIN) one year after KWIKLOG PLUS 2000 came out. KWIKLOG CLASSIC has already been released yet I continue to make available all the files required for KWIKLOG PLUS 2000 and I would have done so until October of 2005. In keeping with this support item, I will post on this web site all of the files required and I will continue holding the files UNTIL, March 2005 - the date that my contract with my ISP expires. My Florida Occupational license to conduct business expires in a few weeks, so I will be unable to create or send these files via mail as I have done in the past to those that for one reason or another could not download files. Therefore I strongly suggest that all users down load the needed attached files even if you have not decided what you will do when MARAC's program is ready for release. Those individuals that cannot download - make arrangements with a friend that can do it for you.
There will be no changes of any kind made to these files after MARAC releases their program so make a note to download the files before January 1, 2005, if possible, or absolutely do so before my web site shuts down in March 2005.
NOTE - The SETUP files when they become available will be partial files in that all files required to run the program will not be in the file. Your backup files will be required to complete the program installation. Be careful that you download the SETUP FILE for the program you are currently using and that you download the appropriate EXE file for the screen resolution you will be using.

The KWIKLOG LITE program IS NOW AVAILABLE as a FREE shareware program at the suggestion of many who have used the former Lite program for many years. The program has been redesigned to do one thing and that is to track your progress toward completion of the coveted CQ Magazine ALL US Counties award. It tracks only that award or the MARAC all counties award. It does however, create a log file that can be exported to KWIKLOG CLASSIC should you decide later that you want to track MARAC awards as well. You are free to send a contribution to assist in maintaining the web site if you enjoy the program and want to help in keeping it available to others. There is no obligation to do so. The file when downloaded can be used to INSTALL the entire program on your computer. The program tracks the USA-CA award, prints MRC's (mobile reply cards). It has a built in call database of active county hunters to expedite logging time, If you wish to pursue the award by working ALL CW the program allows you to set an option to automatically replace any SSB QSO with a CW QSO made subsequent to the SSB QSO thus allowing you to obtain the award with any QSO while creating an all CW Book.
KWIKLITE.ZIP - KWIKLITE This is the ENTIRE KWIKLOG LITE setup CD. When downloaded it SHOULD BE UNZIPPED and COPED to a CD or a TEMPORARY folder and then use the RUN command to run SETUP which will install the entire program. It is shareware. You are encouraged to download the program for FREE, play with it, and if you can use the program and you enjoy it you are free to send a contribution to KWIKLOG to assist in maintaining this web site. There is no obligation to do so. If you wish to use the Map program with this program you will have to also download the map program.
UPDATE #1 - 10--31-04 -State of WY has been added to states on CD. Was omitted on the first CD. Also deleted an erroneous county in LA. Go to BOOK, Click on EDIT COUNTY name and click on EDIT # 0f counties after adding the WY and LA files found in the distribution CD below. Thanks G4KHG, Eddie.

These entries are for use in viewing the book and other reports when you first start running the program to get familiar with the program. Once you have reviewed the program functions and are familiar with its operation and feel you are ready to begin logging your QSO's - Go to the con figuration file found under file on the home page, set the fields as you wish and then click on r=the RESET button to clear all data out of the books in preparation for you county hunting experience. CALL DATABASE FILES:
NONUSA.ZIP * For all KWIKLOG PLUS programs EXCEPT the very first DOS version. Permanent Calls database file. Now contains OVER 4000 calls of active county hunters. This file is used by KWIKLOG to automatically enter the name, and home QTH of a call when you type that call in the log. The file has been created by merging files of those users who periodically send their copies of the file to us for the purpose of creating a larger and more useful database. KWIKLOG PLUS 2000 creates a file NEWCALL.DAT whenever you log a QSO and the station worked is not in your database, and you failed to add it to your permanent file as you logged. You can greatly improve the operation of your program by increasing the size of your file with active county hunters by going to the TEMPORARY call window and adding those calls that appear in the listing many times. (after which you can delete the file completely) Just remember that every time you work that station you will have to input data in the log that could be automatic if you take the time to use this file for the purpose it was intended.
This file may delete any calls that YOU have added since it was last downloaded if that call has not been added to this list. If you keep your list current I recommend that you do NOT download this file if you maintain a list of QSL Cards sent on the Permanent call file to determine who you need to send QSL cards to for 1st Contact UNLESS you rebuild your file PRIOR to downloading this file. Click on QSL CARDS in the Task bar on the Call database window for rebuilding the QSL CARD SENT data.
This file was recreated from the personal database files of many KWIKLOG users who so willingly sent in their database file for merging into a much larger file included many new county hunters, SSB and CW operators, that have been worked in the past six months.

STARS. ZIP * For all KWIKLOG PLUS programs EXCEPT the DOS version Stars/Bingo Calls Database file - Edited periodically as new numbers are announced and normally no less then once a month. USE only to obtain a new up-to-date database file (you will have to re-build USA-CA numbers worked on the USA-CA/BINGO window)
This file contains all USA-CA and Bingo award holders used in the Master Gold, 5-Star and Bingo programs. This file is used only to obtain a NEW database in the event your file is lost or made corrupt. If you do not track USA-CA numbers worked it can be downloaded to update your existing file. The file contains a listing of all USA-CA award holders and the date of the award. It also contains a list of all 2nd to Nth time numbers issued to the award holder, USA-CA numbers worked as well as all BINGO and Multiple BINGO Award holders and dates. The file is used in many KWIKLOG sub routines including logging, award determinations such as 5-Stars, Bingo, Master Gold, etc. It should be kept t at all times for obtaining proper credit for all awards.
This file should not be down loaded merely to keep your list current if you track USA-CA numbers worked unless you first run the create USA-CA numbers worked list PRIOR to downloading the file. 20Note: file has zero numbers worked. All updates through 10-19-04 You will need to update the file with awards issued after that date.

ARRL COUNTRY LIST
05-02-01 DX.ZIP This is the zipped DX.DAT file used in all KWIKLOG Programs to maintain and track, zones, continents, DX-CC etc. It was updated 05-02-01 to provide for tracking the ITU and CQ zones and Continents worked and needed.. The file, if downloaded and unzipped, will overwrite any existing data that you may have entered in the former DX.DAT file but it will set up the file so that the mentioned items can be tracked from after this date for those ARRL awards. Old confirmed DX data will have to be re-entered manually as you did in the old file. It is not connected and will not affect any KWIKLOG county data if copied to KWIN2000..

KWIKLOG PLUS 2000 FINAL EXE FILES
KWIN2000.ZIP and KWIN20L.ZIP - These two files are for use ONLY in the KWIKLOG PLUS 2000 program. This program is no longer in distribution and all updates to that program will cease in January 2005. The update files will be permanently removed from this site in March of 2005. We have completed a complete review of this program in getting it prepared for transfer to MARAC in Jan 2005. Many of the changes will make operational use of the program a little easier for those who will continue with the program after 2005. We are making no additional functional changes to the program - just cleaning it up where we can.
Do not download if you have not installed KWIKLOG PLUS 2000 from a registered distribution CD. The ZIPPED file includes all the files necessary to take advantage of all changes made since it was released. It also includes any county line changes that have been made -- so if you download this file the file CLINES.ZIP listed under other files does not have to be downloaded.

10-17-04 - The Fixed log was corrected to prevent a Master Platinum Award field entry from being changed from a Y to a N in error. Fixed 10-17-04. There is no data base for Master Gold holders in KWIKLOG as there is at present only a few individuals who have earned the award/ There is NO automatic change of the N in the log default for credit to the Master Platinum Book. If interest in the award increases and an increase in holders of the M-Gold award makes the effort worthwhile KWIKLOG will create a file that can be used to make the change in the default to Y.
10-17-04 # 2 - Repositioned ADD to LOG window in the 800 x 600 version (classicR)
10-20-04 - Several changes have been made to the logs . including (1) the number of records in log is now updated on the window as new QSO's are added, (2) Station worked is now displayed for all new awards when the county is opened, (3) when a another QSO is logged, the defaults for the new awards are retained to eliminate having to re-enter the same change from the default, (4) If you leave the window (for example go to the maps) and return the last QSO logged defaults are retained. Makes logging a little easier and a label has been attached to the log entry form which alerts you to verify the Band, Mode and Frequency should you wish to go back to your normal preferred band and mode. COMAP.ZIP -This file is no longer available in either screen resolution . It is the Map Program used by the KWIKLOG PLUS 2000 - It does not run on the CLASSIC program. There have been no changes in this program so no new files are required. IF needed perhaps another county hunter may have a copy for you.
CLCOMAPL.ZIP and CLCOMAPR.ZIP These two files are for use ONLY if you are running KWIKLOG CLASSIC and wish to also use the County Map Program. The CL at the beginning of each file is there just to alert y that the files are for CLASSIC only. They will not work in any other version. You can not use the KWIKLOG PLUS 2000 version of the Map with Classic. If you run both programs the files must be kept in separate folders (CLCOMAP - or COMAP)
These files are for use with KWIKLOG CLASSIC ONLY
UNLESS you have the County Map Program for KWIN2000 running on your computer from the SETUP CD that came with KWIN2000 program DO NOT download these files. This files is placed on the web for users of KWIKLOG CLASSIC who have installed the PLUS 2000 County Map program from a distribution CD sent with that program. The download file should be copied to a new folder to be named CLCOMAP. The download includes BOTH screen versions of the CLASSIC program -- it is a large file -- When updates are made in the future there will be a separate download for each version to reduce download time as is done for the Plus 2000 program. Change the path in your CLASSIC setup file to read C: \CLCOMAP\ and make certain that you create a CLCOMAP folder to receive the downloaded files .

CONVERSION TO CLASSIC from KWIKLOG PLUS 2000
KWIKLOG CLASSIC CONVERSION FILES
SHOULD I convert to CLASSIC? I am asked that several times a day. If KWIKLOG PLUS 2000 does everything you want the program to do and you are not planning on tracking QRP, Master Platinum or the ALL Digital awards - then my response would be NO. But bear in mind that there will be no further updates to the KWIKLOG PLUS 2000 program. After March 1, 2005 you will not be able to convert to CLASSIC as the KWIKLOG PLUS 2000 files will no longer be available on this Web site to make the conversion. You may wish to download the file now, save it, and make a decision later about converting.
If you want to track the new awards NOW then YES you should convert to Classic and you will be in a position to track the already approved new awards and still have room for three other awards that may be approved in the future (or to track a specific book of your own design).
When should you convert? That's up to you. I see no rush in doing so but it must be done before March 1, 2005 unless you have a \copy of the conversion file handy.

Harry was very professional in his reports and his many reports have reduced by many weeks, the debugging time that would have been required to complete the effort.

CONVERTING
KWIKLOG PLUS 2000 TO KWIKLOG CLASSIC
Having trouble making the conversion? I have re-written the instructions that may help you do the job easier - If so download CONV2000.zip again and use the following instructions as on the readme file ( shown below)
The file CONV2000.ZIP Should ONLY be downloaded by those individuals who are registered owners of KWIKLOG PLUS 2000 and who wish to upgrade their program to the new KWIKLOG CLASSIC format. This file creates a new folder named CLASSIC that will eventually replace the existing KWIKLOG PLUS 2000 program and requires KWIKLOG PLUS 2000 files to run. It is NOT a complete program. It will not disturb your data files in KWIKLOG PLUS 2000 IF you follow the instructions carefully. Take one step at a time as below.
THE STEPS IN CONVERTING KWIKLOG PLUS 2000 TO KWIKLOG CLASSIC ARE AS FOLLOWS:
1 - BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING - MAKE SURE THAT YOU HAVE A GOOD BACKUP OF YOUR
KWIKLOG PLUS 2000 PROGRAM. MAKE SURE THE FILES IN YOUR BACK UP FILE WILL
COPY. TRY COPYING THE FILE CONFIG.DAT TO A FLOPPY DISK. (JUST FOR

2 - MAKE A FOLDER ON YOUR C DRIVE AND NAME IT CLASSIC - TEST IT TO SEE IF IT IS

5 - FROM THIS NEW FOLDER C:\CLASSIC RUN THE FILE CONVERT.BAT
THIS CONVERT.BAT FILE WILL CHANGE THE FORMAT OF YOUR OLD DATA FILES
TO THE NEW CLASSIC PROGRAM - YOU WILL SEE THE CONVERSION RUNNING - DO NOT
INTERRUPT THIS CONVERSION PROCESS. HAVE NO FEAR IT IS NOT CHANGING
ANYTHING IN YOUR KWIN2000 FOLDER ONLY IS WORKING WITH THE CLASSIC FOLDER
6 - EDIT THE ICONS ON YOUR DESKTOP TO USE EITHER OF THE TWO RUN FILES BELOW:
THE RUN FILES OF THE NEW PROGRAM WILL BE CLASSICR.EXE OR CLASSICL.EXE)
CLASSICR.EXE REPLACES KWIN2000.EXE AND IS FOR THE 800 X 600 VERSION
CLASSICL.EXE REPLACES KWIN20L.EXE AND IS FOR THE 1200 X 684 VERSION
(THE PATH ON THE COMMAND LINE FOR THE ICON SHOULD READ:
C:\CLASSIC\CLASSICR.EXE OR C:\CLASSIC\CLASSICL.EXE
7 - TO SAVE SPACE AND TO REDUCE LOAD TIME YOU CAN DELETE THE OLD RUN FILES
OF KWIN2000.EXE OR KWIN20L.EXE WHICH WILL STILL BE IN THE NEW CLASSIC
FOLDER. DO NOT DELETE THEM FROM KWIN2000 --- AFTER YOU ARE SATISFIED THAT
ALL IS OK -- YOU CAN THEN DELETE THE OLD KWIN2000 FOLDER AND ALL ITS
CONTENTS. I SUGGEST THAT YOU WAIT A FEW WEEKS OR A MONTH TO MAKE SURE.
8 - IF YOU WILL BE USING THE MAP PROGRAM - YOU MUST DOWNLOAD THE NEW FORMATTED
PROGRAM FROM THE WEB ALSO. YOU MUST COPY THESE FILES TO A FOLDER NAMED
C:\CLCOMAP IF YOU HAVE MAP ON YOUR COMPUTER AND WERE USING IT IN KWIN2000.
IF YOU WERE NOT USING MAP YOU MUST RUN SETUP ON THE MAP PROGRAM CD THAT
CAME WITH YOUR KWIN2000 PROGRAM. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THE CD OR WERE NOT
RUNNING THE MAP IN THE PAST WITH KWIN2000 THEN YOU MUST ORDER THAT CD -
IT IS NOT AVAILABLE BY DOWNLOAD FROM THE WEB. THE MAP DOWNLOADS ON THE
WEB ARE UPDATES ONLY - THEY DO NOT INCLUDE THE REQUIRED WINDOWS FILES
(DLL, OCR, ETC.) COST OF THE MAP CD (IT WILL BE THE CLASSIC VERSION) IS

9 - YOU MUST NOW RUN THE SETUP CONFIGURATION (UNDER FILE ON HOME PAGE) AND
MAKE SURE THAT YOU HAVE EVERY FIELD CORRECTLY FILLED. DO CHECK THE
FOLLOWING:
a - PATH to KWIKLOG LOG FILES - change to C:\CLASSIC\
b - Path to COUNTY Map - change to C:\CLCOMAP\
c - Check on the rollover date field (?) and make sure that
you have the correct roll over date for EVERY award.
Enter 00-00-00 if you have not received an award and if
the award does not have an official start date. If the
award has a start date enter that date as mm-dd-yy.
Start dates are found on the utility window under general
information
d - Check that you have a Y or a N in all tracking fields.
The new award fields are under the Track new awards (?)
field.

This file contains
ALL the file
used to convert the KWIKLOG PLUS 2000 program to the new KWIKLOG CLASSIC
program. DO NOT DOWNLOAD AND RUN THE ATTACHED FILES unless you wish
to upgrade your existing program. There are no updates to the CLASSIC
program as of this date. The run file for the Classic program is
CLASSICR.EXE or CLASSICLEXE. An earlier CONV2000.zip file did not
include batch files for Viewing logs, sorting files, etc. that required an EDIT
of the affected BATCH files (those ending with an extension of .BAT and users
were getting runtime errors. I have edited all the batch files for you and
have added them to this download. A default frequency of 10.1140 has also been
setup for you CW guys - so go get them. You can also use one of the new 3
special books as a 30 meter book if desired Be sure that you copy ALL
the files included in this zipped file to your KWIN2000 directory. After all is
OK reboot computer and delete the KWIN2000.exe or KWIN20l.exe files in the
Classic directory.
